Qsymia Trying to lose weight is not an easy undertaking. It can be frustrating to deal with hunger and cravings when losing weight. Qsymia is a once-daily pill that helps you realistically manage your weight-loss plan and expectations.
How Does Qsymia Work?
Qsymia is a prescription medication that contains phentermine and an extended-release form of topiramate. This medication was designed to help overweight and obese adults lose weight and keep it off. Qysmia works in conjunction with diet, physical activity, and lifestyle changes to help patients achieve long-lasting results. Throughout the day, it can be frustrating to cope with the daily cycle of hunger and cravings. Hunger usually comes on gradually throughout the day when you haven’t eaten for several hours, and does not pass with time. Cravings can come on suddenly, and can even occur if you are full. Cravings can also be linked to your emotions. Qsymia works throughout the day to help you feel full and reduce cravings.
While Qysmia can keep cravings and hunger at bay, the best, long-lasting results come from making changes in your physical activity and nutrition. Our team will help determine the safest and most effective diet and exercise program to help you make these changes to your lifestyle.
When Is A Patient A Candidate for Qsymia?
Qysmia is indicated as working in conjunction with increased physical activity and reduced-calorie diet for weight management in adult patients with a body mass index (BMI) of:
- 30 kg/m2 or higher (obese)
- 27 kg/m2 or higher (overweight) with the presence of at least one comorbidity related to weight, such as type 2 diabetes, hypertension, or dyslipidemia.
